You could try keeping your channels, but doing soi would require some
mysql data-diving.
At the minimum, you would have to create the new lineup, (without
deleting the old one),then change the sourceid field in (at least) the
channel table, from the old sourceid number to the new number, after
having deleted all entries with the new number beforehand (ie, delete
what listings you have just created),

NO IDEA, NOT AN INKLING about what else might need to be changed in
other tables. But whereever sourceid appears (except in videosource) you
may need to change the field value.

At a minimum, you would want to start with a number of mysqldump backups
of individual tables, so you could restore them *over* the new table.
And your karma exceedingly well centred. I suspect that this will be
long and painful process.

I have never had any problems with scanning, so long as the card is
properly set up. Or are you talking about scanning on a cable setup?
We don't need to do that anymore except for unencrypted QAM services
(which are non-existent in Canada, and extremely rare in the US ofA).

Maybe it's time for a new OTA tuner?

No the XML service is going away in November. That is why the new
grabber is necessary.
