-------------- next part --------------

Hi Stefan,

I live in Norway and have used MythTV for many years.

I imagine that GET has similar decoder solutions to Lyse/Altibox, spitting out over HDMI only.

I use a Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 to convert component video to an mp4 stream over USB. This works fine for up to 1080i (I use 720p). The 1212 is quite an old unit now, but  is still available and as far as I know there are few alternatives.  Be careful if deciding on a different and newer unit that it is supported by MythTV.

As the Altibox decoder only spits out in HDMI I also convert this to component using a HD-Fury2. Newer HD-Fury units might have trouble with HDCP content but this isn't an issue with the 2.

The Hauppauge box can also drive an IR blaster so you can script channel changes on your GET decoder, but I don't use the functionality.

You're welcome to contact me directly if you have any other questions.

Cheers!

Marius

Does anyone have experience with using MythTV in Norway with the cable company Get.no?Are there any limitations? Is it possible to watch all HD channels or do you have to use their box?Do they use pairing with the card and the box?
