Depends on what you want. I generally do my ripping on my Mac ...
If I want an image of the DVD (complete with annoying non-skipable warnings etc) then I just use dd. As long as the DVD libs are loaded then it should be just a matter of "dd if=/dev/xxx of=${filename} bs=1M" to copy the entire disk to an image file. (where xxx is whatever your optical drive is called, and £{filename} is a file you want to put the image in.
If I want to convert things, then I use Mac DVD Ripper Pro.
