Not so sure about the 'generic' bit

The Mythtv-HOWTO says that the answer for this situation is to create an
Input Group and include the 2 inputs in the same group. Myth then knows
that it can only use ONE of the two at any one time.

The other PVR would be on its own.

Even then, within the input group, you would have to fiddle with things,
as both sources can record any channel in the source (as it should be).
But you want to prefer certain channels to go to the HDPVR. I think you
will have to both create an Input Group and then give an input priority
to the HDPVR and in addition, in the Channel Editor give priority points
to the HD channeld. It could result in the HDPVR doing all the
recording...HD and SD but the system would know to choose the HDPVR for
any program which is on both HD and SD feeds. (Don't know about
satellite but that is common for cable).

Or just buy another PVR350 and dedicate it to handling the HDPVR input!
Different source, HD channels only, with priority by channel.
And then you can record THREE shows at once, not just TWO!
