This might make sense if there was a snowballs chance in hell of these
fixes/improvements being accepted into mythtv. This selfishness
problem is not about the database, it's a natural response to how hard
it is to contribute to the code. Going to an embedded database just
raises the bar that much higher.

If you are so worried about people messing up the database, why not
just document the schema/business logic properly? That would help both
problems.
