As the lead developer on a commercial database centric product, I
couldn't agree more.

As far as the JSON service in general, it seems like it has nice
features and would be nice once officially supported.  However if that
support couldn't reuse existing channels and required all the source
and channel deletion that's been talked about (a requirement that
still doesn't make sense to me) I probably wouldn't go near it unless
it was a necessity for some reason.
