Did you fiddle around with metadata settings, for I thing it's that.
It came up here on the list last month. There is a setting, I think in
Configuration > Artwork and Metadatasources; Perform daily updates of
recording artwork. If the profile has the showing of artwork
implemented, this activates it.
To get rid of it, turn of this feature and clear out the artwork
directory or switch to a profile that hasn't got this implemented.
