Yes, MythTV is the largest project of SD.... between 50 and 75%. Of course as you noted, that's all self-reported and many people submit multiple 
apps, so it's certainly not a scientific survey. We could probably analyze the logs to firm up the number, but haven't tried.

SD is basically just like the project apps... everyone has day jobs.   While a few folks get paid small stipend so boring crap gets done,  it's mostly 
OSS folks keeping things going for OSS projects.
