Just got around to trying this today running 0.27.3 fixes (Gentoo).
All seems to have worked great as far as I can see.  Thanks!

My first test failed because I used the ip address listed in that SD
forum link.  I hadn't noticed they were different.  I take it the ip
posted here is specifically for MythTV?

Anyway, thanks again!  This one will be a life saver for many and
gives everyone breathing room until some formal implementation of the
JSON service is available.
