Maybe you're encountering this: https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11452

If that's the case, then an upgrade to 0.27.4 should fix it. If the preview
gen is the only thing not working, I'd say go ahead and do the upgrade,
because it will probably fix that problem.
