Yes, the MythTV Perl bindings are available for all versions of MythTV.
It sounds like the packages you're using are broken, so you'll need to
talk to your packagers to get them fixed (and/or ask for help from other
people using the same distro, who may be able to help you get things
properly updated to the right versions).

Yeah, properly replying to a digest version of the list traffic is
extremely difficult unless you have a mail client that actually knows
how and does it for you. In general, we recommend that people disable
digests when they're planning to post (versus "lurk") on the list.
