I was surprised the wiki doesn't mention this. Eventually I remembered it  
was removed because recent versions don't depend on myth at all - they use  
the python API instead. So I suspect you're still using an old version 2,  
which talked to the frontend directly.

Apart from that, there's no significant functional changes in the latest  
4.2, but Hippo has optimized the audio processing so that it runs lighter.

You may want to upgrade.
