Personally I disagree. mythtv would be the poorer for ditching mythfrontend.

But there should be room for two frontends, myth's and xbmc's, and any
others that want to try. Choice is freedom.

To that end a published backend API would be useful. As I understand
it the backend protocol is largely documented in the code itself,
which is kinda tough. If I am wrong, let me know.

Having said that I think that co-operation both ways should be encouraged.
