I think the current sizes of 28.5 are a good compromise between  
readability and not feeling like looking at a theme for visually  
impaired.
I always got back to the Mythbuntu theme because it already was the  
most readable, so I never had the impression there was room for  
improvement.
I still liked the 6-items-menu, from 28.1 I think, better though.

There are two places where the larger fonts really bug me though:
- in the recordings screen it's no longer possible to read the  
recording date, I only see two leading characters of the recording  
weekday
- the header the left column no longer displays the recording group  
(completely) because it's always cut off a few characters after "All  
recordings - ".
