I think you're off on a tangent here.

I'm really asking the intended behaviour of the single recording rule & hoping to catch the attention of David Engel for a Solmonic pronouncement.

To my mind record once is a kind of manual recording with metadata as a value added. I'm not sure why someone would go trawling through the listings for a particular showing if they then wanted the scheduler to overrule them, there are plenty of very nice search rules for that.

If single recording is not intended as an imperative + metadata then maybe it ought to be.
