[mythtv-users] Hd pvr 1212 question / front side composite ports

So I've been looking at the HD pvr 1212 and thinking about by passing the whole CableCard approach.

My only questions are can I use the front side composite cables on the 1212 and still bypass encryption? My cable box the Cisco RNG doesn't have Composite outputs on it. (Unless comcast will give me RNG 150 instead. -- will they do that?)

Also will I be able to change channels and stuff in it like my MythTV?
