First, I apologize for the delay in response. I'm incrementally
preparing my Mac for transfer of OS to an SSD, but am working to keep my
home on a platter, as well as keeping all temps on it, so I've been
distracted a lot. Add in real world, it gets slow.

Second, frontposting is considered bad here. Posting at the tail of a
posting is good.

Finally, I've only gotten HLS to work and that requires waiting to get
the BE to finally process it. Never really examined the process at all
though, sorry.
My own BE is a Dell 2850 server, with plenty of RAM, so processing time
is either due to the BE (unlikely, due to the time involved) or FE
based, the tablet. As I've gone out for various tasks, I'm not really
sure which and to be honest, I have enough other projects keeping me
busy to not really investigate the delay. I suspect the tablet FE is to
"blame" for the delay though.
Hope this rather information lacking bit of information helps!
