Try getting your hand on an newer version of mythtv than what
RPMfusion provides. You'll find that a log ot things have been
improved in the past couple of weeks.

Having said that, the issue here is myth not being able to read from
the hard drive for more than 10s... Are you using NFS by any chance?
if so, don't.. Stream from the backend.

If you run your frontend with -v file --loglevel=debug you'll be able
to see how long it takes for the frontend to read the hard drive
