Yes you can. Upgrading Myth doesn't change the video files, so it's just a matter of making sure that they are in a path listed in the relevant storage group setup after the upgrade - the path doesn't have to be the same as it was as long as your storage group is set to point to it's new location.
BTW - Myth itself isn't concerned about device identifiers - you configure by file system paths, so if your videos are in /myth on the filesystem on /dev/sdb1, and you mount that on /store1, then myth knows it as /store1/myth/
