SO you are saying you have limited technical skill? I have no idea if you
ever had physic classes but cold metal contracts and hot metal expands. I
have no idea how old the hard drive in question is and what type of
bearings it has. If it has old type of bearing cooling by freezing it will
allow to work for an extended time.
