One needs to carefully evaluate the glacier pricing and
your expectations regarding storage and retrieval (in
addition to the $/GB, they charge by the "object"
moved into/out of the ice flow, and you pay a penalty
if you retrieve more than 5% of the data in a month,
and a different penalty if you do not store the data at
least 90 days).  For regulatory bulk archival requirements
glacier looks like a good fit.  For personal backup,
not so much.
