[mythtv-users] Still trying to get Ceton InfiniTV working

Any chance you could do me a favor to help me diagnose my problem?

Could you pull up the interface web page and tune any channel on a tuner, then start it streaming?  After doing that, could you post the log data from that?

Mike

One additional thing I forgot to mention.

HBO, Showtime, those things, still come over as CCI 02's. I believe that's the expected limitation with MythTV, correct?

i.e. PlayReady/MCE works with 02's but myth doesn't and hasn't ever.

So, the good news is now that it's working--it came down to the CableCARD not being correctly paired.

After about 10 minutes, he got everything setup on his side then started telling us exactly what settings/pages to look at to see things flowing on the cable card interface.

After a little frustration I remembered reading about some little nuance/bug with ceton or MCE that required a full screen/tabbed screen flip to get MCE working, and sure enough, that did it. I don't know if that actually did it just a timing coincidence, but I didn't care.

I have comcrap and the ceton 4 port card. Works fine. No problems. That being said, Perhaps your problem might be a bad cable card? I have heard of that happening. Otherwise I would agree with the other posters that its a comcrap screw up. Probably not paired correctly. Perhaps as they were typing in the numbers they screwed it up? -- Something like that.

>>I completely agree with Joseph.  Even though I was on RCN instead of Comcast, the first cable card they issued appeared to be setup with RCN correctly, but I was not able to tune anything.  They suggested I swap out the cable card, so off to RCN office I went.  I swapped out cable card, went home and plugged it in, and it worked perfectly.  So, either it was a failed pairing or a defective cable card, and the replacement card and process addressed the problem from there on out.
