[mythtv-users] Rescan of video library broken in the last week?

i just installed xubuntu14.04 on my lenovo thinkpad...fedora20 stopped sleeping
(or rather it wakes immediately after sleeping, useless on a laptop) and
besides, whatever myth version on it was crashing in livetv;-\

the ubuntu installed

MythTV Version : v0.27-193-g8ee257c
MythTV Branch : fixes/0.27
Network Protocol : 77
Library API : 0.27.20140323-1
QT Version : 4.8.6

i'm new to ubuntu/apt...what's the majick incantation to get 0.27.3?
