Thanks for the responses.    So, just to make sure I got the right takeaway
from the above.  This means:

a) This is the expected behavior in a default install.  Mythfilldatabase
essentially adds new guide data in its scheduled daily run.

b) --dd-grab-all gives a way to more efficiently update your complete guide
data.   The daily update can be done with this option by adding it to the
mythfilldatabase command in mythtv general settings.
