As an update to this thread, I found this:

Which seems to indicate one of the CuBox-i models may be the target
for development (being in the CuBox-i forum, not the CuBox forum).

Unfortunately, the CuBox-i is currently sold out with more stock
expected in late March. So, for now, patience...
