Seconded. https://github.com/bramp/libcec-daemon is where  
libece-daemon is happening. It has the potential to become like the  
LIRC deamon, it just needs developers to help out. It's good enough to  
pass keys to MythTV and suspend/shutdown and it doesn't need anything  
building into MythTV.
