Actually, the difference is that (depending on the specific AMD cpu),
the floating point unit is "shared".  Whether this matters depends
on the particular cpu, whether the instructions are 128 or 256 bit,
and other factors for which you have to delve deep into the
microarchitecture of the specific choice.
