For mythtv purposes, I would agree with you. In fact, all my systems that have 
monitors have nvidia video cards, even those with something else on the motherboard.

I need a quick, cheap system I can set up easily and plug into the tv to run 
skype. I dislike the invasiveness of skype intensely so I plan to set up a box 
which will basically do nothing else and will only be powered up when I want to 
use it. (The reason is, my son in New York has had an accident, his 
girlfriend^Hfiancee is expecting twins...)
