So I got my new DVB-T2 290e added it to the backend, did a complete nuke all channels and full rescan using the new card and found all the HD channels. For 24hrs I was a very happy bunny as I could watch and record HD.

However, suddenly the card couldn't find the HD channels. No amount of re-scanning, kernel downgrades, etc would make the HD channels re-appear.

Can anyone suggest what has gone wrong?

I can't really think why it would stop working once you had it up and running, but I do know that missing HD channels can be an incoming antenna signal strength issue.

Fiddling with aerial amplifiers, splitters and attenuators I can quite easily get HD only, SD only or both sets of channels from my 290e.

So if after getting things working you decided to tidy up your antenna wiring then I'd suggest that's it. If you haven't touched anything then maybe turning on/off other connected devices has made a difference in signal levels, but that seems less likely.

I agree with David. I had to pad my signal to get the HD channels.
