No. This is an excellent suggestion. I've followed your example, and
(after a false start due to the module naming not being exactly what
dmesg used - mantis_core instead of mantis) the allocation order is working.

Unfortunately, without knowing this was the cause of the problem, all I
can do it wait and see if I get any more zero-length recordings.
