Just be aware that the HDHR-CC (i.e. Prime) is cable
only (it cannot decode OTA), while the other models
of the US line can receive and decode both OTA and cable,
but do not have the CableCARD support that the HDHR-CC
has.

Regardless, if the cable company signal is low (and by
low you mean low signal level, or low S/N), you really
should make them own that, and fix it.  You are paying
them for service, they should deliver it.  I have never
encountered a cable company that does not take this
part of their job seriously, although sometimes it can
take a while if it is extensive outside plant work.
