Two more remarks:
- You have to leave the directory /var/lib/mytharchiv as mount-point
  anything you leave in there won't be accessible anymore so check for
  dot-files! ls -a
- Make sure that the new line in /etc/fstab is below the the line
  where you mount your storage drive. It's therefore good practice to
  place any 'bind mount' at the bottom.
