I believe if you do the research you will find that
the dns servers are inaccessible.  There have been
some ongoing DDoS attacks against various DNS
providers recently, and this may just be the latest
(or name.com has some serious infrastructure
issues).

Note that your resolver cache may vary (so it
may work for some, not for others).
