I know I am resurrecting a really old thread, but I really do not see the
benefit of making sure the last few seconds of audio are played when the
first few seconds are dropped.

Is the best plan forward to just keep a local codebase with this patch
reverted? I know locally, my audio starts on time and I could really care
less about the last couple seconds of recordings. It seems strange to me
that the end of the recording is as valuable as the point where bookmarks
start, etc.. Oh well.
