[mythtv-users] CBS eye-lerts e-mails going away

Not sure how many people are using the CBS eye-lerts to be notified when
some sporting event is going to delay subsequent CBS shows but if you
are, it appears that e-mail is no longer going to be an option (you will
get an e-mail notifying you or you can just go to
http://www.cbs.com/eye-lerts/ if you didn't get the e-mail (yet).

It looks like rather than the convenience of pushing, they are opting to
have everyone "poll" to find this stuff out either by facebook, twitter
or their "ticker" on cbs.com.

Or you can run yet another app on your iphone. Yes, a whole app just to
get the equivalent of what their current e-mail does. Plus an ass-load
of advertising, I am sure.

I complained at:
https://cbsi.secure.force.com/CBSi/submitcase?template=template_cbsent&referer=cbs.com&cfs=SFS_1&data= since I don't use facebook or twitter, or have an iphone (nor would I run another app chewing up resources on my phone just for this crap), nor am I going to waste my time logging on to cbs.com every day just to check their "ticker".

I suggest everyone else who wants to continue to have these pushed by
e-mail rather than having to continuously poll some other information
source every day -- just in case -- complain at the above URL similarly.

The other option of course is to do what I did and that's to score down
the CBS station so that it's chosen to record on as only a last resort.
I find that doing that typically pretty much avoids CBS completely and
finds the same shows on other channels that do not delay due to sporting
events that cannot seem to stay within their allotted time.

Cheers,
b.
