i use unetbootin http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ on osx, but also avail. in
windoze & linux...worked like a champ installing on my neighbor's netbook (w/o
optical) but i couldn't get it to even boot my lenovo touchpad: i could set the
usd drive as 1st boot, but it died partway in:-\ (that's why i'm keeping my
optical drives;-)

now i use it to install mint on the display laptops @ costco;-)
