It's not correct. RAID10 provides higher IOPS, however it's not faster
than RAID5 would be in either read or write with 4 disks..
IOPS != transfer speed.

As Warner wrote, it makes no sense whatsoever for a mythtv storage solution.
Better off plugging those 4 drives to the onboard sata controller, and
use mdadm if the hardware raid doesn't support RAID5.
