[mythtv-users] HOWTO: Setting up VDPAU with AMD E-350 APU

I gathered the following instructions from XBMC, and using these instructions with Xubuntu 14.04 beta, I am able to use vdpau with the Foxconn NT-A3500.

If I have permission to update the vdpau page on mythtv.org, I will add the info below to it. otherwise I have no problems sharing this wealth and letting someone else use the info.

Processor use is around 35% rather than 100%++ without.

Installation of the wsnipex repository which includes all relevant mesa patches in a stable version. 
--NOTE: Don't use oibaf ppa - it will produce black screens only.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:wsnipex/mesa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install libg3dvl-mesa vdpauinfo linux-firmware

Add/modify /etc/default/grub so that GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT reads similar to this:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="radeon.audio=1 radeon.dpm=1 quiet splash"

sudo update-grub

sudo reboot

I am using HDMI out on this machine and video/audio are working fine for me.
