Subject: [mythtv-users] Slightly OT: RF blaster
Hi,
I discovered by accident yesterday that my Motorola VIP-1853 IP-STB standard remote must be a RF device. The STB also accepts IR from my Logitech Harmony.
However, the discovery does give me a chance to solve a problem that I've been delaying tackling for years: How to send channel changes from MythTV without an ugly IR blaster taped to the front of my STB.
So I'm wondering:
Does anyone have any experience of using one of these:
X10 R.F. PC Transceiver (CM19A) <http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0027RMIAO/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new>
together with:
X10 CM19A Linux (and Windows!) Driver <http://m.lemays.org/projects/x10-cm19a-linux-driver>
>From MythTV?
Using it in a channel change script should be a piece of cake (much simpler than lirc) if it works with recent flavours of Linux (I'm running Ubuntu 12.10).
Cheers!

I’m not sure what you would use it for in context of a MythTV system. It controls X10 devices and I’ve never seen an X10 STB.
