Not always true. If a TV has a VGA input it is assumed that it will be connected 
to a PC or games console, so there will usually be a "PC Mode" or "Exact Games 
Mode" or somesuch buried in the setup screens.

Sometimes these only appear when the appropriate input is connected and in use.
