The irony about the criticism of the Hobbit 48fps is that the digital
camera shutter aperture/dwell/duty-cycle used is about equivalent to a
real mechanical film 24fps camera.
So the actual frame/motion blur of digital 48fps is approx. same as 50%
mechanical shutter 24fps.
A 24fps version of the Hobbit, made by discarding every other frame,
would be a good facsimile of 24fps film.
