OK, but at this point it is without it's ".tmp" distinction and has a ".3"
tag instead. How do I or should I change it? Or should I have let it
overwrite the "mythtv" file newly created in sudoers.d? And again how?
sorry to be such a newbie. Terminal output in previous post  (and again
below) shows the "mythtv" file, if I'm reading correctly, with nothing
written in it, right?
