But unlikely to be related to Stefan Jones' problem of not being able
to get encrypted content.

This is something I would start by debugging without involving mythtv.
 Just use hdhomerun_config to scan, set a virtual channel, check the
channel status, and save the video to a file.  If you can't do that,
then it's not a MythTV problem.
