At least in 0.26fixes the pre-tune channel setting is broken, just filed http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11917 

about this. 

To make this work properly, either the GUI or the channel code must be changed: Currently you enter a channum from the channel database, but this 

is used as a "channel frequency id" for the hardcoded analog channel table.

Thanks, I'm glad I wasn't just imagining this, or that importing and updating my database had broken something . 

I did search the list archives on the Wiki and the bug database, but "pretune" didn't seem specific enough. 

Unless someone has another suggestion, I will manually record on channel 3 and set the STB's channel manually until this gets fixed.
