Try getting a new AC power adapter. Mine went bad and caused instability
in my HD-PVR for over a year, gradually getting worse and worse which would
cause about 80% of my recordings to fail and required multiple power-cycles
a day. I replaced the AC power adapter about 18 months ago and I've only
had a single failure that required me to power-cycle the box sent. Many of
the earlier ones had bad caps.
