Problem finally solved:
myth2.bantercat.co.uk - restarted frontend and it worked
myth3.bantercat.co.uk - couldn't work this out at all netcat connected
from localhost, but not from anywhere else. Eventually nuked ~/.mythtv
and re-ran frontend setup. It now works.
