I'm having trouble setting up the back end, recognizing tuner cards etc. Going to the front end does no good because the back end doesn't even turn on. I also have Mythbuntu Control Center, from Software Center, it opens and I can flip through all the pages but I'm wondering if it is supposed to work with Mythbuntu instead of Myth TV. Previously mentioned is all on a Ubuntu 12.04/64 bit OS I have Mythbuntu intalled on a partition extension of my drive, I do a lot of restarting there because the screen goes blank or because I can't do anything else and it seems like I'm only seeing front end pages I don't see where to input tuner cards of which I have two, a Hauppauge Win TV HVR 1250. and a Kworld Hybrid.

At the moment the information doesn't differentiate between "couldn't install the packages" through to "it all installed and configured but I get no watchable recordings".

The backend won't start until you have some cards configured. You need to run mythtv-setuo to configure the system - I'm wondering if you've missed this step
