This is the right approach for testing your various inputs with Live TV.

Note that Y is TV Playback/NEXTSOURCE.  You want TV Playback/NEXTCARD, 
which has no default binding.  You can either bind it using 
Utilities/Setup|Edit Keys or--much more easily since it's not something 
you'll need to do often--just use MENU, then select Source then "Switch 
Input" or "Switch Source" and choose the appropriate input.
