[mythtv-users] Importance of the motherboard sound chip?

Hello!

It is soon time to upgrade my current HTPC with new hardware.

I think I know the answer, but I ask anyway just to be sure.

Does it really matter what audio chip is on the motherboard
if I pass through the digital audio stream via HDMI and let
the receiver do the decoding?

If it matters, what audio chip do you recommend?
