Yes the Myblaster is a special IR send/receive controller which is
more advanced than the standard LIRC IR blaster.  But they seem to be
no longer available.

At this point you should probably just figure out how to use LIRC to
control the IR Blaster you have.  LIRC can be confusing.  But once you
get it setup, it should do what you need.

If you can find a Myblaster for sale I would recommend buying it.  I
found it a lot easier to use than the standard LIRC IR blasters,
especially for learning commands from from an undocumented
remote/cable-box.
